Located on the Main Road, in the centre of Arthur’s Pass Village.
The bunkhouse contains a large day room with a woodburner fire and a full kitchen.
Comfortable couches with intimate mountain views from picture windows.
A six bed dormitory.
A double room that can be used either as a twin or a double.
Bathroom with shower. Separate toilet.
All centrally heated. Unlimited hot water.
Own sleeping bags required.
Tenters have a day room ( power points ), the infamous concrete tent ( `Obbit Ole` ), a toilet, the public coin shower and the laundry. Unlimited hot and cold water.
T.A. thru Walkers have a bounce box storage room with 24/7 access. Box storage and forwarding service.
Trailhead transport. Free wifi. USB charging points.
Transport
The core activity is an early morning shuttle for both T. A. Walkers and Coast to Coast athletes to Morrisons Footbridge, being the start of the Goat Pass trail.

Pricing depends on loading, however this service is free for The Sanctuary bunkhouse guests. Tenters will pay a discounted price.
Transport to other trailheads is an incidental activity.
T.A. Walkers also have access to a self-drive vehicle parked at Morrisons Footbridge most afternoons.

Refunds for cancellations will be at the sole discretion of The Sanctuary. Generally, a refund will not be given when cancellation within 48 hours of arrival.

Arthur's Pass National Park
In 1929, Arthur's Pass National Park became the first national park to be established in New Zealand. Arthur's Pass village offers visitors access to its peaks, passes, glaciers and tarns, gorges, waterfalls and deep river valleys, forests and alpine meadows. Mountaineering and tramping (hiking) are popular activities, particularly the day hike to Avalanche Peak (find out more about walks in the area).
